Albirex Singapore Soccer School invited special lecturer Wataru Ota from Japan to hold a two-day GK clinic. Around 20 players participated in the training.
On the first day, the coaches provided in-depth guidance on fundamental goalkeeping techniques, such as catching. Despite the training session being conducted in the rain, the players made concerted efforts to catch the ball, utilizing their bodies extensively.
The second day focused on practical training, where players learned about the optimal timing and techniques for moving forward in a game to intercept a shot, as well as positioning in relation to the ball. Impressively, many of the children had overcome their fear of the ball by this time.

It was a fantastic two days of learning for the children. Wataru Ota gave a very detailed session to help the children understand more about GK. Above all, it was a good time for me as well, as the children seemed to enjoy the two days very much.

I am thankful for the opportunity to connect with you through Goal Keeping (GK).
It was truly inspiring to hear the children express their enthusiasm, saying things like, "I want to be coached by a Goalkeeper!", "I want to improve!", and "I want to grow!" Their eagerness and passion are remarkable.
I firmly believe that experiencing the joy of a successful play and maintaining a positive attitude towards taking on the next challenge, even in the face of failure, are crucial for growth. These experiences teach players how to truly enjoy the art of goalkeeping. I am committed to continuing my efforts in promoting, nurturing, and developing goalkeeping skills in Singapore.
