Singapore National Goalkeeper, Hassan Sunny, returned to the line up after he missed the last match through a concussion.

The White Swans dominated the match from the beginning but they could not carve out any clear cut chances until the 21st minute. Receiving a pass from right back, Asahi Yokokawa, Kunori played the ball across the face of the goal. Left winger, Shuto Komaki was the fastest to react at the far post and swept the ball into the net to give Albirex the lead.

However, there was no more notable actions in the first half and the White Swans took the one nil lead into half time.

Geylang came out all guns blazing in the second half in search of the equaliser. In the 50th minute, a header from centre back Amirul Adli looked destined for the bottom corner of the goal but Hassan popped out from nowhere to divert the ball away.

4 minutes later, Hassan made a superlative save again when he got down low to thwart Vincent Bezecourt's free kick.

Geylang were made to pay for their inability to past Hassan when the trivariate of Yokokawa, Komaki and Kunori breached their defence 2 minutes later in the 56th minute. Yokokawa made a quick throw-in into the box to an unmarked Komaki, who in turn released a quick crossball into the penalty box. Kunori pounced with a sweet first time volley into the roof of the net. Geylang was stunned. 2 nil.

The Eagles tried to strike back quickly as they had a one vs one chance after their restart. Still, they could not pass Hassan as Hassan came out quickly to defy Yushi Yamaya. However, Hassan took a blow to his face and stayed down to the horror of the White Swan's bench and fans. Luckily Hassan got up quickly to everyone's relief.

Supersub Keito Komatsu put the game to rest when he rode 2 tackles and curled his shot into goal. 3 nil.
