One of the strongest teams in South East Asia, with currently 9 consecutive wins in the Malaysian super league. Since 2017, the team has been participating in the main Asia Champions League (ACL) tournament for six consecutive years.
Their hometown is Johor Bahru, Johor, Malaysia.
The club was founded in 1972 by the Sports Department of the Johor State Economic Development Board and is managed by the Johor State Sports Department, not by the Football Association.
JDT's Sultan Ibrahim Stadium, which will host the international friendly match, is a dedicated football stadium with a maximum capacity of 40,000 people which was built in 2020.
