Captain Asahi Yokokawa put in a five-star performance with 2 goals and 1 assist in a 5 nil rout of Hougang Utd this evening at Jalan Besar Stadium.
Yokokawa opened the scoring in the 13th minute when he received a cutback outside the box from midfielder Shodai Yokoyama, and unleashed an unstoppable shot into the roof of the net.
12 minutes later, centre back Koki Kawachi was unmarked at the far post and headed in a corner from midfielder Kaisei Ogawa. 2 nil.

In the 33rd minute, left back Sho Fuwa's cross into the box was half cleared by the Cheetah's defence and Yokokawa reacted fastest to the loose ball. He sold a dummy to a Hougang defender and thumped the third goal and his second for the evening into the net.
The White Swans took a 3 nil lead into half time.
Substitute Keito Komatsu came on at half time and probably scored another contender for goal of the season.
From a Hougang's corner in the 50th minute, Komatsu brought the ball out of the defence, rode 2 tackles, spotted Hougang's goalkeeper Zaiful Nizam off his line and lobbed the ball into the net from the half way line. 4 nil.

Komatsu had scored another sublime goal in the first round against Geylang International. He struck a superb volley in almost his first touch when he came on as a substitute in that match.
Hougang could have scored a goal or two but Hazzuwan Halim shot wide when he was totally unmarked in the box; while ex White Swan, Fairoz Hasan's looping header hit the crossbar.
However, it was the White Swans who got the fifth goal for the evening as the excellent Yokokawa found space on the right wing and cross the ball to Komatsu for an easy tap-in in additional time.

The victory extended Albirex's lead at the top of the table to 4 points as 2nd-placed Tampines Rovers suffered a shock defeat to Balestier Khalsa last evening. The White Swans will visit Bishan Stadium 2 weeks later on 21 May (Sun) to play against the Lion City Sailors. Kickoff is 6pm.
