【Match Report】2021 SPL MD21『Draw Leaves White Swans' Title Hopes Hanging by a Thread』
Needing a win this evening to have any lingering hopes of retaining the Singapore Premier League title, the White Swans lost a 3-goal lead at half time to draw 4-4 with Tanjong Pagar Utd to end its 2021 campaign in disappointment.
Albirex took a 4-1 lead in the first half with striker Kiyoshiro Tsuboi scoring all 4 goals to finally mark his return to form after 5 months of serious injury.
Knowing that Lion City Sailors were taking a 2-1 lead at half time, the White Swans knew they need to score at least another 3 goals to have any chance of winning the title.
However, the eagerness to score goals opened up the defence and Tanjong Pagar took advantage to put in 3 goals in the 2nd half.
