Albirex first Singaporean player, Adam Swandi, scored his first goal for his new club within 41 seconds when he swung his left foot at a loose ball towards goal. Captain Wataru Murofushi added a second goal 2 minutes later after he dribbled into the box unchallenged.

The White Swans tried hard for another goals but were profligate in front of goals. DPMM Brunei tried hard in the final moments of the game to get a goal but Albirex stood firm. 2 nil, full time.
