2019 SPL 21st Leg vs Warriors FC "Winless Run Continues"
The White Swans suffered a shock defeat in the hand of Warriors FC this evening, losing 1-2 at Jurong East Stadium.
Former White Swans stopper, Kento Fukuda scored a header off a free kick at the 40th minute to give the Warriors a one goal lead at half time.
The White Swans introduced striker Yoshikatsu Hiraga at half time and went on the offensive. At the 56th minute, right winger Daizo Horikoshi got the equaliser when Warriors custodian Shahul Rayyan spilled a cross.
However, 3 minutes later, Warriors striker Jonathan Behe went on a mazy run from half way line, riding the tackles from 3 White Swans defender and scored near Kengo Fukudome's near post. Warriors regained the lead at 1-2.
The White Swans had good chance to equalise but were profligate at goal. A last throw of the dice at the 90th minute with 2 metre striker, Makito Hatanaka, yielded no dividends either.
The loss is the White Swan's 4th in 6 matches, with the other 2 matches ended in draws. The White Swans will next travel to title challengers Brunei DPMM FC in Brunei on 10 Sep. It looks unlikely that the White Swans would break its dreadful run as Brunei has not lost at home yet.
