2019 SPL 2nd Leg "All Square at Opening Home Game"
The White Swans were held to a goalless draw by Brunei DPMM FC at their opening home game at the upgraded Jurong East Home on Friday night.
A full house for the opening night saw the fans welcome upgraded facilities such as brighter floodlights and new plastic seats.
20 year old Daniel Martens, on loan from Hougang FC, was handed his professional debut.
Martens worked his socks off for the first 63rd minutes before making way for 2 metre tall Makito Hatanaka.
Hatanaka though suffered a knee injury at injury time, and had to be substituted by a third striker, Yoshikatsu Hiraga.
However all 3 strikers and the White Swans attackers could not find a breakthrough despite DPMM FC had a man dismissed in the 50th minute.
The game ended goalless to give the White Swans their first point for the season.
