SPL 20th Leg vs Home United FC "Last-gasp Equalizer Preserves White Swan's Unbeaten Run"
It looked like the White Swan's 19 match unbeaten run is going to come to a halt at Bishan Stadium until Captain Wataru Murofushi popped up in the box at the 4th minute of injury time to score the equaliser.
The goal kept the White Swan's unbeaten run to 20 matches in a remarkable season, although they dropped points for only the 2nd time this season.
The first half was a forgettable affair between the newly crown AFC Cup ASEAN Zone Champion Home Utd and Singapore Premier League Champion. In a hot afternoon, the only notable point was Taku Morinaga missing his penalty.
Home Utd started captain Shahril Ishak on the bench and he came on only in the 2nd half. 2 minutes after the restart, he pounced on a mistake in the backline of the White Swans and lobbed GK Nozawa. First blood to Home Utd.
The White Swans were missing their usual fluency, but they kept huffing and puffing for their equaliser.
Just as it seemed that all was lost, the White Swans captain had other ideas and denied Home Utd in what will be a famous victory.
Final score 1-1 and the unbeaten run goes on.
